2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU
This was the last full year that the JK was built. 2017 was the first year of the JL version. This means that all the bugs were ironed out over the previous ten years that the JK was sold.
This Jeep comes with the reliable 3.6L Pentastar engine which is good for over 200K miles. Stellantis/Chrysler used this engine in many other vehicles also, so parts and service are inexpensive and readily available.
We've owned the Jeep for five years and it’s been well cared for with regular maintenance.
We performed most of the modifications and it’s custom built for camping comfort and convenience in the desert backcountry. This Jeep is really dialed in for getting to that picture perfect campground in the back country and having the roof tent and the kitchen area set up in five minutes.
The CVT roof tent is low profile and has metal construction so that the Jeep can cruise on the interstate and the harsh Arizona sun does not fade the tent.
We used top of the line gear (Goose Gear drawer system, Cook Partner stove, ARB fridge) for the back kitchen area for fail-free and convenient operation.
Modifications and add-ons include:
-2.5” AEV DualSport XT lift kit
-35” BFG KO2 tires. One year old. Less than 5K miles.
-Steel front bumper with a SmittyBilt winch and extra driving lights
-Light bar on top of the windshield
-Upgraded SmittyBilt tire carrier to support the 35” spare
-FrontRunner aluminum roof rack
-FrontRunner folding table that stores under the roof rack
-CVT Mt. Hood aluminum hardshell roof top tent (deploys in one minute)
-Alucab 270 Shadow batwing awning (deploys in 2 minutes, no poles needed)
-Goose Gear drawer and storage system (two drawers + fridge slide + stove carrier and slide)
-ARB 55qt fridge
-Cook Partner aluminum stove (built like a tank)
-Alpine ILX-W650 car stereo with Apple Carplay and Android auto (custom install)
-Rack mounted shower enclosure for privacy

If the price is right, we’ll also include a complete swing out bike carrier system. This system consists of Kuat Pivot V2 swing arm and a Hollywood racks two bike carrier. This is a perfect companion system for the Jeep for mountain bikers. It allows the bikes to be swung away when opening the rear door.

Here’s a list of additional info that we’ve documented after our trips:
- Minor pinstriping on the sides
- minor dent on top of the cowl next to the passenger rear view mirror
- Minor fading of the exterior plastic parts
- The lower control arm mounts have been replaced with beefier ones
- Sway bars have been upgraded to quick disconnect
- When driving over bumpy roads there will be rattling
We rented out our vehicle about 20 times for a total of 30k miles when we were not using it. The rest of the time it was in our own private use.
88,000 miles. And we’re asking $27,950.
