Our content business continues to grow rapidly. We are looking for a highly motivated business leader to help further scale our newsletter business (1.5M subscribers) and build our video presence. The candidate must share our commitment to reimagining the future of financial media.

The Role

The VP/Director of Content will drive the vision, strategy, execution, and growth for all content arms for the brand. This includes our existing newsletters and new video content. This role requires a strong passion for financial markets and a solid track record of driving content strategy, execution, monetization, and team management. This candidate would ideally have a proven track record in our industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy to drive viewership growth. This includes identifying new opportunities, audience segments, and monetization strategies.
  • Build Stocktwits video presence. This includes building a content strategy, overseeing production and editing, and managing guest coordination.
  • Oversee and optimize our existing newsletter business. This includes collaborating with our sales, marketing, content, and community teams to launch new newsletters that are differentiated and could resonate with our audience.
  • Utilize various digital marketing channels, such as social media, email marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and partnerships, to maximize brand visibility and audience reach.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales and brand partnership teams to explore advertising and sponsorship opportunities, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships with advertisers and sponsors.
  • Monitor key performance and revenue metrics, such as views, average view duration, open rates, click-through rates, and subscriber growth. Use these insights to optimize content and increase profitability.
  • Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

  • Direct experience in building an online video business from scratch.
  • Direct experience in managing a newsletter business with demonstrated success in driving business growth.
  • Proven track record of producing engaging and high-quality content across channels and content types.
  • Experience managing a team of writers and content creators, with a demonstrated ability to provide effective feedback, mentorship, and team coordination.
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and performance tracking tools to measure content effectiveness.
  • Strong understanding of audience segmentation, content personalization, and A/B testing strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, analytics, and growth strategies for content.
  • Experience with social media and other digital platforms to engage with our target audience.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas for newsletter content and distribution.
  • Passionate about the markets, business news and/or personal finance.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to balance numerous projects while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, particularly in building relationships and working collaboratively both internally and externally.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills (grammar & syntax).
  • Willing to join meetings or take calls outside of normal business hours.
